For me, the shocking fact about poker is that it's very difficult to win. Possibly you might be on the lossing end all through. What do you think is the most shocking fact about poker that you ever came to know? Is it the rigged games, the pros secrets or something else?

Most players are losing players. Does that count as a shocking truth?

Playing poker is gambling! The sooner you understand that is the better it's going to be for you because some people actually think it's not simply because it's called poker instead of gambling.

While I agree with you that there is an element of chance/gambling in poker, there is also definitely a skill component as well that, I think, separates it from other traditional gambling games like roulette, blackjack, etc. I think it does poker a disservice when people lump them all together as simply "gambling".

The truth is, you don't always win and may not know when to pull out. It's not an easy to win game for lots of riches.

Poker can also have its moments and it’s possible to play for days without a single win. Knowing when to fold and how to manage one’s expectations is important in order to minimize frustration that can lead to financial and emotional losses.

One basic truth that I really wish people know about poker is that it is hard work. You must grind it out to be consistently winning. The people that I know that always win consistently are always studying their past hands, analysing different kinds of opponents. Poker is a mental hardwork to be consistently winning.

Bankroll management ie of the saddest realities about poker is the significance of bankroll management. A lot of players do not take proper care of funds management and they wind up being stressed and losing money. The need to establish boundaries and the elevation of safe gaming is necessary.

Shocking truth about i can remember is that poker cards or playing cards is use for divination. And they are one of the most reliable divination tools ever apart from tarot cards!

The most shocking thing for me was learning how much mental game matters. I always thought it was just about cards and math, but tilt control and emotional management are huge. Also finding out that many "winning" players are actually losing when you factor in all their expenses and time invested.
