Survival is important in tournaments, but I think it can be overrated if it makes you too passive. In poker, just lasting longer isn’t the goal, accumulating chips is. Sometimes avoiding risk is correct, but other times you need to take calculated spots to build a stack and actually win, not just survive.

As long as you have a chip and a chair, you still have a chance to win. However, if you're not looking for good opportunities to double up when you're down to 10 big blinds or less, you're not playing to win, you're playing to survive.

I think having a strong short-stack game is vital for tournament players and can give you a significant edge when battling through large fields. Tournament variance can be brutal, so maximizing your opportunities when short-stacked is an essential skill for long-term success.

Hey all. I've been playing mobile poker apps (PPPoker, X-Poker,PokerBros, ClubGG) for a couple of years, mostly in Asian clubs.Built a comparison directory at poker-catalog where I track rakebackrates, club traffic, and agent reliability. Happy to answerquestions about the mobile poker world — it's a niche mosttraditional poker players don't know much about.
