I've fallen asleep while playing online poker before. I think you need to be well rested in order to have ultimate focus.

How important is rest/sleep before playing poker?

Rest is truly important, but I'm surprised you slept off while playing poker. You must have been very tired. I'm not sure it is something that can happen to me though. I can't afford to fall asleep when funds are at stake.

Rest is very much important, without any rest and going into a poker game feeling tired and not fully focused could lead to a huge loss if you are not careful. I would advise anyone playing poker ensures they get plenty of rest so they are at their best.

I think I was up for 2-3 days, and it's happened to me more than once lol. Usually I play freerolls when I'm tired, but I've also had it happen in buy-ins.

I've cashed in a tourney after I passed out, and returned seeing that I made money.

That's a great point! In any casino, rest is important. It makes you concentrate more and also helps in decision-making at the table. Fatigue will definitely have a negative impact on your decisions, which can cause poor profitability.
