I think mentally strong players, especially in tournaments tend to run deeper, while in cash games that same resilience helps you handle wild swings and, ideally, crush the tables.

What do you think? What really separates mentally strong players from the rest?

I think one of the major thing that separates them from every other player is the state of their minds. These players have been able to train their minds to the fullest.

Seriously, mental strength is not just about enduring losses, it's about controlling reaction in real time. I saw one guy stay calm after brutal hand, he still played the next spot perfectly. Meanwhile, if I have one bad beat, my mood would change instantly.

I think their ability to stay consistent regardless of outcomes is something that separates mentally tough players with common player. They don’t chase losses or get overconfident after wins. They trust their judgements, manage emotions, and make calculated decisions even when they are under pressure
