I think I'm often misunderstood because I'm confident in my poker abilities. If you don't believe your the best when you sit down at any table, you need to reevaluate your game. At least that's my mindset when I play.

I do think it's important to remain humble, but I like having fun, and poking at my poker friends/family when I play. It's makes the game more fun. Don't mistake my confidence for cockiness *cough* @lbrew1

I always enjoy seeing my friends win. Thoughts?

To gauge confidence is knowing that your strategy is actually working. Cockiness means that you think you are unbeatable. I have exhibited the two at the table and I also make sure to maintain high concentration and stay prepared.

I don't see poker players that are confident when they are on the table as being cocky. There are times that I have used that confidence to knock a very good poker player that is better than me off balance. Confidence on the poker table is not cockiness at all.

Confidence is key when you are playing poker, there are soo many different strategies at different stack sizes and positions its good to know when you can back your skills/hand reading etc. cockiness often comes from someone that is running lucky at a table in my experience. just be ready to play some mixed strategies when you can in position with range advantage and let them trap themselves also and GGs. gl on the felt be table captain and crush them all!!!

Cockiness means that you think you are unbeatable.
Everyone is beatable, and even bad players...win. Luck is apart of the game, but admittedly at times I can be over-confident, and I use that to my advantage when other players think I'm being cocky.

Any/all information can be used to extract value from your opponents in favorable situations.

Overconfidence and cockiness is so synonymous that it used to be very difficult for low esteem to differentiate between the two. There is nothing wrong with anybody been cocky except when it makes you uncomfortable! A smart person will always find a way to ignore any kind of attitude or use it against him.

Believing in your own game is key to playing well. At the same time, keeping things fun makes a big difference. Teasing friends or family a bit at the table keeps the mood light and enjoyable. Confidence doesn’t mean being cocky, and I always enjoy seeing my friends win too.

Confidence in poker means you trust your strategy, you stay disciplined, and make decisions without emotion. Cockiness, on the other hand, means you are overestimating your edge, ignoring risks, and chasing plays to prove something. Confidence is required, when as cockines will bleed your money.
