Do you make friends easily on social media platforms? Personally, I don't find it quite easy to make friends online because of how most people are fake from who they really are with what they display online. I've only managed to make just 3 friends online in the past 20 years.

How many friends have you made from social media?

Years ago I used to play a lot of games on Facebook when they were available on there and I met a lot of online friends through playing those games. Back then I also had a forum and I met some people whom I added on social media as friends too and I do still have those friends.

Nowadays, I don't tend to meet as many people on social media as I used to.

I’ve made a lot of friends over the years on social media and forums. I’m grateful for them as we’ve all became close friends as well.

In the days of AIM, I was home-schooled, so it might sound weird, but my entire middle-school friend group was a group in Florida (around 8 people). We voice-chatted/played CS together.

I've tried to make contact with them a few months ago on Facebook to reconnect, but it might go in their spam folder.

I'm going to try again tonight to see if I can get through.

I've met a couple people on niche forums, but I fell out of those niches and, so did our friendships.

I've got quite a few acquaintances that I met on social media. But I wouldn't particularly call them friends. Most dealings I have with them are kept professional. We do throw some banters every now and then, but that is as far as it went.

I have only made a few real frends online. having made friends with hundreds of others in the online sense.

Yeah, emphasis on 'real'. Most online friends end up right there online, which hardly makes them real in my opinion.
I mean if you're having like video chats regularly or exchange phone numbers I consider that real. Still not too many.

I guess that works too. But personally I have not really had a very good friend from online.
I am going to Pittsburgh next year to watch some baseball with a friend i made online. We are both pretty excited.
